Pest control is the process of using pesticides for getting rid of the dangerous pests to protect the food grains and other field products such as wheat, paddy and vegetable greens from the attacking pests. Pest control process is also used to prevent the insects and rodents from entering into the homes of the residential colonies surrounded by trees and hills. When the residence is located in a location surrounded by trees and hills, naturally many insects will be invading the residence. Mostly these pests and insects are removed by spraying pesticides which contains certain chemicals. This chemical spraying method is used by the majority of the people for getting rid of the insects. But the major drawback of this chemical spraying process sis that these chemicals are equally dangerous to the health of the humans as it is to the insects and pests. Because of the toxic nature of the chemicals, it is extremely harmful to the health of the kids in the family. There are other alternative methods to get rid of the pests, thereby avoiding the dangerous chemicals.
These alternatives include the traps, Pheromones, Biological control and Repellents.
Traps are used for catching rats and cockroaches. Pheromones are insect scent hormones used in traps as baits. The traps will emit the scent of the female insect thereby attracting the male insect into the trap. Biological control involves growing of plants that resists the growth of certain insects and drives away the insects. This methodology is often used in farmlands to get rid of the insects and pests. There are also non toxic repellents that drives and kills the insects and one of the famous non toxic repellent is the Mosquito repellent. Eucalyptus and wormwood are some of the naturally available repellents that can drive away a certain group of insects and pests.
