I remember a boy named as a Stephen who lives in a greenhouse at kerala India. He is about 16 years of age and lives with his aunt and uncle. Actually i went to the southern part of india at kerala which is my native place, during my vacation period. It was during this time i met this boy. Greenhouse are the places where plants are grown.it is a structure covered with different types of materials that include glass or plastic roofs. This place heats up because of incoming visible solar radiation absorbed by the plants, soil and other things inside the building of a commercial greenhouses are often used for high tech production for vegetables or flowers. My village is located right in eastern part of kerala, just 5km away from my house is located pearl greenhouse.

i went to this place with my cousin , who was used coming to this place since past 2 years. When i entered the pearl greenhouse there were many workers busy doing some or other work. I suddenly stopped and looked at one of them. he was darkened due to heat and was wearing pyjamas. i smiled at him, but was not smiling at all. Later my cousin started talking with him. he was answering in yes and no. i thought he was tired of doing all works. He as busy in his work doing some gardening and planting seeds. i encouraged and asked him, what is your name brother? He replied with a smile, Stephen D’souza. i asked him what are you doing, he replied , i am ploughing some part so as to grow the red tulips. Later he finished his work and washed his face and hands with water and started talking with us . it was good to see him replying to all questions that we asked. Later i asked him whether he was living with his parents, he replied no., he said i am living with my uncle and aunt who the supervisors of this greenhouse. He didn’t replied about his parents, and further i didn’t asked about his parents. And then he started explaining about the pearl greenhouse He said that different types of fruits and vegetables are grown here. he said that oranges and pineapples are grown here throughout the year, as it was having contract with with a juice company and had to supply them compulsorily. He later said that he joined them as he was interested in that field and has grown nearly 85 different types of fruits and crops there.

i was amazed by hearing this from him. Later he showed us different farming tools and equipments and later we had a long conversation about pearl greenhouse and many different greenhouses around it. At last we thanked Stephen for spending time with us and he handed us a bunch of grapes which were big in sizes and tasted sweet, we were really happy by eating those and then we moved out as i had to pick a bus to reach my uncles house later in the evening. It was a good experience visiting the pearl greenhouse
