I have an eco-friendly idea that I know can be very successful. I am calling it “Be Green For Green” and my idea is to have a recycling rewards program that will allow people to use recycled goods in exchange for a discount on future purchases at the grocery store or the gas station. I have had this brain baby for over a year and I am now finally renewing my drive for success of the idea. I want to have a recycling station, much like a reverse-vending machine, where you would be able to put your recyclable goods into the machine in exchange for what I am going to call green-bucks points.
I plan for these “green bucks points” to be earned in accordance to how many and what type of recyclable product is put through the machine. For instance, 5 plastic bottles might be worth the same amount of green bucks points as 1 glass bottle or 3 aluminium cans. These green bucks points will be able to be used on future purchases at the gas pump or at the grocery store. All that I have left to do is to create the kick-starter page in order for me to get the necessary funding that is needed in order to make a prototype recycling station. Look for “Be Green For Green” in the future because it is going to help the United States start a recycling revolution!
My name is Ryan Parks and I am 22 years old. I am living in South Carolina at this stage in my life but I will be moving wherever I have to in order to make this a successful idea and company. A subway station in Beijing is doing almost this exact idea to help commuters pay for tickets and it is working very well. Also in Germany, they are doing something very similar to this idea and they are calling it PFAND
